Swindon Youth for Christ are a local youth work organisation that are passionate about working in partnership with the local churches of our town to enable young people to hear about and experience the love of God.
Because of this passion we have developed the Swindon Churches Youth Work Charter. The charter is a set of promises which all the local churches of Swindon are invited to make to demonstrate their commitment to seeing the gospel reach the young people of our town.
The seven commitments can be made by every church in the town, whether they have 100 young people in their church or none. They are a set of principles which will guide us all as we seek to see God’s Kingdom grow amongst young people in Swindon.
The work of Swindon Youth for Christ primarily focuses on taking the Good News relevantly and creatively into the secondary schools of Swindon. Through our work our greatest desire is that young people will make a commitment to follow Jesus and then have the opportunity to be discipled within the local church. Our heart is to see every church in Swindon full of young people exploring and experiencing the love of God as part of a church family.
We would encourage you to read through the charter and its attached guidance notes and share it with your church leadership team and church congregation before signing the charter and returning it to us. We will then also sign it before returning it to you for you to display at your church.
