Taking the Good News relevantly to every young person in Swindon

Support SYFC

Hope for a lost generation

Growing up in the age of the celebrity. The influences of today will shape the people they are tomorrow.

Childhood and adolescence is under pressure like never before. The young people of Swindon are faced with a maze of changing values and morals as they grow towards adulthood. So its no suprise that many feel empty and alienated by a society that views them with fear and suspicion. Some believe their lives lack any real sense of truth, love or hope.

It’s into these situations that SYFC works. We see at least 300 young people every week. We come alongside them and help point them to the Good News of Jesus Christ – who offers ‘life in all its fullness’. Empowering them to make positive life choices.

“Its going to be the best Christmas ever! This year I’ve found Jesus. I’ve learnt so much about him through the lunchclub and Rock Solid club. This is going to be a great Christmas with Jesus.” Student

We work in schools, colleges, churches and communities to support young people and show them that they are loved. We take school assemblies, lead RE and PSHE lessons, we do detached youth work, run youth clubs, mentor young people, engage in pre-exclusion work, run outreach events, support discipleship programmes and wellbeing projects. Through it all we aim to  see young people discover their worth and what it means to live in a real relationship with the living God who created them.

All the work of SYFC is done in partnership with the local church ensuring that there is a continuity of care for new or young Christians and that everyone finds a place where they can be cared for and discipled once they have made a decision to follow Jesus and seen him transform their lives.

“The lunchtime club is great! My Tuesdays used to be boring but now they aren’t, it keeps me out of trouble. LOADS OF FUN!” Student
